France requires all masks for exclusive sanitary use

The French president, Emmanuel Macron, announced Tuesday that his Government has requisitioned all the stocks of masks in the country to reserve them for health personnel and those infected with the coronavirus that need them, while the authorities announced a room killed by COVID- 19.

"We require all stocks and the production of protective masks. We will distribute them to health professionals and the French affected by the coronavirus," Macron said in a message on his Twitter account.

The news coincided with the announcement that the barrier of the 200 infected in the country has been overcome and that a fourth fatality has been registered.

This is a 92-year-old patient who died in the department of Morbihan, in Brittany (northwest of the country), the Directorate General of Health reported in a statement, in which he said that in the last hours 13 new affected people have been confirmed, which brings the total to 204.

Macron's decision to requisition the masks comes after the Minister of Economy, Bruno Le Maire, denounced the multiplication of its price, as well as that of the antiseptic gels.

"News comes to us that the prices of gels have multiplied by two or three in some shops and online," Le Maire said at a press conference.

Given this, the minister said he has ordered an investigation into price speculation and does not rule out limiting them by law.
