Italy’s players celebrate a goal against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The selections of Italy and Belgium certified this Wednesday their qualification for the Final Four of the League of Nations, to be held in October 2021, after having won their respective groups by defeating Bosnia Herzegovina (0-2) and Denmark (4-2) to meet with France and Spain, classified from a day before.

The four countries that will fight for the title debut in the final phase of this new competition devised by UEFA. The ‘azzurros’, who reached the final day leading group 1 of League A, had no problems keeping the ticket to defeat Bosnia. Roberto Mancini’s team, absent by Covid, won with goals from Andrea Belotti and Domenico Berardi.

The victory of the Italians leaves out of the Final Four Holland despite their victory in the last match against Poland (1-2). The ‘oranje’, who began losing this Wednesday in their visit to Chorzow with a goal from Jozwiak, achieved their first victory since the departure of Ronald Koeman thanks to the goals of Depay – penalties – and Wijnaldum, which established the final 1 -2 to five minutes to 90.

For its part, Belgium will not miss the appointment either after dismantling Denmark (4-2) in a game with protagonism of Romeul lukaku, which is still sweet every time he wears the ‘red devils’ shirt. The Inter Milan striker has scored 46 goals in his last 47 games for the Belgian national team. This Wednesday he signed a new double.

The team led by Roberto Martínez went ahead after three minutes with a goal from Tielemans, although Jonas Wind equalized for the Danes shortly after. Already in the second half came Lukaku’s double and the icing on the cake by Kevin de Bruyne, who closed the Belgian win two minutes to go. In this way, Belgium joins Italians, Spanish and French in the fight for the title and to relieve Portugal as Nations League champion.

For its part, this last day left the relegations of Bosnia, Sweden and Iceland to League B, waiting for the Switzerland-Ukraine -suspended by the Covid- to be disputed and to know the fourth dropped; while Austria, Hungary, Wales and the Czech Republic promoted to the First Division of the new UEFA competition. The four teams obtained the ticket in the last day.

In addition, teams that are not used in the first divisions were promoted to League B. It is the case of Armenia, directed by the Spanish Joaquín Caparrós, who has celebrated his promotion in the same way as Montenegro, Albania and Slovenia, which will occupy the place left by Turkey, Slovakia and Bulgaria.

Finally, the selections of Gibraltar and Faroe Islands promoted to League C as winners of their groups, while Estonia, Cyprus, Kazakhstan and Moldova will descend to the D after finishing as group bottoms.
