Fourteen communities continue this Friday on alert for minimum temperatures, snow, rain, wind and intense waves, which will leave waves between 5 and 7 meters on the Cantabrian coast, reports the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) on its website.
Asturias has an orange alert (significant risk) for coastal winds from the west force 8 with waves between 5 and 6 meters high, and yellow alert (risk) for rains, which will leave 15 liters per square meter in one hour, and snowfall in areas mountainous at a height around 1,000 meters.
The Basque Country has activated the orange warning for strong waves of up to 7 meters in the provinces of Vizcaya and Guipúzcoa, and yellow alert for rains and maximum wind gusts of 90 kilometers per hour throughout the community.
Galicia continues with orange alert due to intense waves in the provinces of A Coruña and Lugo, and yellow warning in Orense and Lugo due to snow in mountain areas at a height close to 1,100 meters.
Cantabria is with orange warning by west wind force 8, locally force 9, with waves between 5 and 7 meters, and yellow alert for rains that will accumulate up to 15 liters per square meter in one hour; Aemet warns that the rains may be accompanied by a storm.
On the Mediterranean facade, Catalonia and the Valencian Community have orange warning in the provinces of Tarragona and Castellón due to waves and adverse coastal phenomena.
Aragon, Castilla y León and Navarra have activated the yellow alert for rain, wind or snow, while in Almería and Granada (Andalusia), the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Melilla, Community of Madrid and La Rioja continue with yellow warning for streaks of strong wind – between 70/80 kilometers per hour – or by coastal phenomena.
The Aemet warns that with the orange alert there is a risk of unusual weather phenomena and with a certain degree of danger for the usual activities, and with the yellow one there is no meteorological risk for the population in general, although for some specific activity.
