Four of every 10 people over 65 feel alone, according to a report



39.8% of people over 65 suffer "emotional loneliness" in Spain, according to a report by "la Caixa", which states that elderly people with lower educational levels are more at risk of social isolation and that the loss of Network of friends begins earlier in men than in women.

The study, entitled "Loneliness and risk of social isolation in the elderly", has been prepared with a survey of 1,688 men and women, with the aim of studying, understanding and deepening the characteristics of their social network and their degree of loneliness.

The research concludes, among other things, that the feeling of loneliness is present in all ages, but it becomes more worrisome among the elderly and reaches 48% in those over 80 years.
