Former Pemex director accused of corruption Emilio Lozoya arrested in Spain

Emilio Lozoya, former director of the state-owned Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), was arrested in Málaga (Spain) after taking fugitive months of justice and having an international arrest warrant against him, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR reported on Wednesday) ).

“It confirms detention by Spanish authorities of Emilio L. in that country,” the FGR said in a bulletin about this senior official involved in the Odebrecht case.

Lozoya was a fugitive and unaccounted for after the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) of Mexico accused him of having received bribes from the Brazilian firm Odebrecht and of participating in the irregular sale of a fertilizer plant.
