Five Spaniards isolated in Cambodia by the coronavirus

A woman is still aboard the cruise on which they were traveling, the Westerdam, after the landing was halted after confirming the positive of an American. The other four had already gone down and remain in a Cambodian hotel waiting for the test results but without security measures

The situation on the Diamond Princess cruise ship, the ship that docked in Japan, is complicated and has already been declared as the second focus with more contagions behind China because it records 355 positive on board. Meanwhile, there are five isolated Spaniards in Cambodia after another cruise, the Westerdam, docked Friday in the port of Sihanoukville after being rejected by five other countries. According to Foreign, a Spanish woman continues aboard the ship, now in quarantine, after an 83-year-old American tested positive for coronavirus and caused the landing to be suspended. The four others landed and now remain in a hotel in Phnom Penh awaiting the test results although they are not subject to any type of isolation.

And is that more than 1,200 people left the ship without any control and they were received by the country’s prime minister with hugs and flowers; a measure now criticized for the possible consequences. Currently, 747 crew members, 236 passengers and 300 more isolated travelers are being tested at the hotel where the four Spaniards are. Now, until the test results are known, charter flights to evacuate passengers from Cambodia to their respective countries have also been temporarily canceled.
