Castilla y León, Galicia, the Canary Islands, Andalusia and Extremadura have activated the alert for intense heat this Friday, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). These communities are expected to record temperatures ranging from 37 to 41 degrees.

In Extremadura, Badajoz remains on an orange warning (important risk) due to temperatures that will rise to 40 degrees at points in the Vega del Guadiana, while in Siberia in Extremadura, in the Tagus, Alagón, Cáceres plateau, Barros, Villuercas and Montánchez the values ​​will oscillate between 36 and 38 degrees.

The provinces of Seville, Córdoba and Huelva also activate the orange level due to temperatures that will reach 41 degrees in areas of the Seville and Cordoba countryside, and in the Andévalo and Condado regions; in Jaén and Cádiz there is a yellow alert for values ​​between 37 and 39 degrees.

In the Canary archipelago, the island of Gran Canaria maintains the alert activated for maximums of 37 degrees on the southeast coast, midlands, especially those facing south, and, above all, in high areas; in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Gomera and Tenerife there is a yellow level for values ​​between 33 and 34 degrees.

Castilla y León maintains the yellow warning (risk) in the southern area of ​​the provinces of Ávila and Salamanca for maximums of 36 degrees, while in Galicia there is also a yellow alert in the provinces of Ourense and Pontevedra for values ​​that will rise to 35- 36 degrees.

The provinces of Cádiz (Andalusia), Girona (Catalonia) and the island of Menorca (Balearic Islands) are in yellow due to coastal winds.

The Aemet warns that with the orange alert there is a risk of unusual meteorological phenomena and with a certain degree of danger for usual activities, and with the yellow there is no meteorological risk for the population in general, although there is for some specific activity.
