More than a hundred members of the Infoca Plan continue to work this Sunday in the area to consider the fire under control

Firefighters have managed to perimeter 70% of the fire in Sierra Bermeja (Málaga), which started last Wednesday and could be stabilized on Friday. It is the previous step to consider the fire under control, whose causes are still being investigated and which has burned some 3,500 hectares in Pujerra, Júzcar and Benahavís.

The flames forced the eviction of residents of the urban area of ​​Benahavís and several urbanizations, which meant a figure close to 3,000 people, although a good part of the evacuees were able to return to their homes 24 hours later.

Currently the alert level is zero in the area and there is no risk to the population and one of the three injured firefighters remains hospitalized with second degree burns.

More than a hundred members of the Infoca Plan continued this Sunday the work to consider the fire under control.
