Filmoteca Canaria returns to fangs with 'Interview with the vampire' – La Provincia

Interview with the vampire, the sexiest bloodthirsty immortal movie in movie history until the arrival of the saga Twilight, It will be possible to see this week in Gran Canaria and Tenerife within the Canary Filmoteca cycle dedicated to this genre. Directed by Neil Jordan and played by Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Antonio Banderas, the film managed to make vampires fashionable again in 1994, marking a whole generation.

The screening will be tomorrow, Tuesday, October 8 at the Guiniguada Theater in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and on Thursday 10 at the Espacio La Granja, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It will start at 7 pm, in original version with Spanish subtitles, and with tickets at 2 euros. The session is part of the cycle organized by Filmoteca Canaria in collaboration with the Fimucité Festival, dedicated to movie soundtracks.

Interview with the vampire celebrates 25 years of its premiere and stands out for its cast, starring world-famous actors such as Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas, Christian Slater and Kirsten Dunst. Also, one of the reasons why this film stands out is its soundtrack. Elliot Goldenthal was the composer who gave life to the BSO of this screening and was nominated for an Oscar and the Golden Globe.

Based on Anne Rice's novel, it tells the story of Lestat, an immortal who turns all his victims into the same as him. Among those people is Louis de Pointe, a man devastated by the loss of his wife and daughter and who, two hundred years later, in the twentieth century, decides to tell what his life was like after a young journalist, who counts some experiences full of love, terror and ecstasy of a vampire.
