FIAB and ASINCA will promote industrial food activity in the Canary Islands

The organizations will work to strengthen the business fabric of the sector

The Spanish Federation of Food and Beverage Industries (FIAB) and the Canary Islands Industrial Association (ASINCA) have signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of
boost industrial activity and strengthen the business fabric of the food and beverage sector at a national and regional level.

FIAB is made up of 45 sectoral associations and represents the first Spanish industrial sector with almost half a million workers and more than 30,000 companies. For its part, ASINCA is the first and only representative association of the Canarian industrial sector that brings together
more than 200 companies86 of them for food and beverages, and is in charge of defending their interests and promoting industrial production in the Canary Islands.

The signing of the agreement took place this morning in Madrid and Mauricio García de Quevedo, general director of FIAB, and Raúl García Pascual, regional president of ASINCA, participated in it.

The objective of both organizations is to strengthen the industrial fabric of the sector at a national and regional level and increase competitiveness through the development of informative, training and innovation programs to improve
knowledge about the sector among citizensadministrations and food industries, as well as other stakeholders in the sector.

They will also work together on the analysis of regulatory projects and agri-food policy at the national and regional level through the
information sharing and participation in working groups.

«This collaboration agreement will allow us to encourage the development and competitiveness of the industry thanks to coordinated work and will contribute to improving the positioning of
industry at national and regional level», declared Mauricio García de Quevedo, general director of FIAB.

For his part, the regional president of ASINCA, Raúl García Pascual, pointed out that "with this Agreement, we consolidate the role of the industry as a strategic sector in the economic development of the Canary Islands and we enhance the value of the unit, which is a key element in the industrial gear»
