The Spanish driver Fernando Alonso, two-time Formula One world champion and who returns to the championship this year, has been run over while riding a bicycle in the surroundings of Lugano (Switzerland), reports his team, Alpine F1.
“The Alpine F1 team can confirm that Fernando Alonso has been involved in a road accident while riding a bicycle in Switzerland,” the French team explained this Thursday through a statement.
“Fernando is conscious and well; and he is waiting to undergo new medical examinations tomorrow morning. The Alpine F1 team will not make any new demonstrations for the time being. Any news will be made public tomorrow”, reads the Alpine F1 text Team.
