Fátima Báñez will chair the new EY-Sagardoy Talent and Innovation Institute

The EY-Sagardoy Talent and Innovation Institute is born, launched by EY and Sagardoy Abogados and chaired by former minister Fátima Bañez. EY-Sagardoy Talent and Innovation is established as a new forum of ideas in order to promote people management and innovation in the face of the challenges and opportunities facing the Spanish labor market.

Established for the creation and dissemination of knowledge, the EY-Sagardoy Institute will focus its activity on promoting best human resources practices to address the challenges faced by people management departments in companies, especially through agile organization methods, ‘reskilling’ and ‘upskilling’ solutions or the use of technology in the field of talent. In addition, the center will work on adapting to the new challenges facing the world of labor regulation, such as digitization, robotics or sustainability. All these advances will require the updating of labor relations, the modernization of active employment policies, the improvement of training, a decided commitment to science and innovation and the orientation of taxation towards attracting talent and creation of opportunities.

The new EY-Sagardoy Talent and Innovation Institute has today constituted its advisory council, which is made up of renowned experts in the field of business management, legal, academic and social dialogue. The institute will be chaired by Fátima Báñez, current president of the CEOE Foundation and former Minister of Employment and Social Security. In addition, the position of honorary president will fall to Juan Antonio Sagardoy, also honorary president of Sagardoy Abogados. In addition, the vice-presidency will be held by Íñigo Sagardoy, president of Sagardoy Abogados, and Federico Linares, president of EY. Likewise, the Secretary of the Board will be Juan Pablo Riesgo, partner in charge of EY Insights and former Secretary of State for Employment.

Likewise, the advisory council is made up of jurists, economists, experts in social dialogue and renowned professionals from the business and academic context such as Mercedes Ayuso, professor at the University of Barcelona; Pilar Cosentino, Executive Vice President of Grupo Cosentino; Rafael Doménech, head of Economic Analysis at BBVA Research; José García Montalvo, Professor of Economics at UPF; Cristina Garmendia, former Minister of Science and Innovation and president of the Cotec Foundation; Martín Godino, managing partner of Sagardoy Abogados; Juan Pablo Lázaro, president and CEO of Sending and former president of CEIM; Pilar López Álvarez, vice president of Microsoft Europe; Cándido Méndez, former secretary general of the UGT; Francisco Pérez de los Cobos, former president of the Constitutional Court and professor of Labor and Social Security Law; Jaime Pérez Renovales, Secretary General of the Board of Banco Santander and José Luis Risco, Partner at People Advisory Services and Director of Talent at EY.
