F1 raises more than 72,700 dollars with cyber races – La Provincia

The Formula 1 has led the collection of $ 72,716 to combat COVID-19 thanks to six cyber racing, disputed in three days and with the participation of several pilots from different categories, including, for example, Formula 2 and Formula 3 together with Formula E.

Through the solidarity platform Tiltify, and under the hashtag #RaceForTheWorld to promote themselves on social networks, F1 has launched this virtual competition to raise funds to be used for the so-called Response Fund of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Although the initial goal of raising $ 100,000 has not been reached, these six e-races have been part of the initiative ‘F1 Esports Virtual Grand Prix’ still being developed by the organizers of the F1 World Championship while the pandemic lasts.

The Monegasque pilot Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and the British Lando Norris (McLaren), as well as Belgian soccer goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, have competed in #RaceForTheWorld and will also participate next Sunday in the third round of the virtual F1 World Cup.
