Evictions increase 1.7% in the second quarter, according to the CGPJ



The number of mortgage launches or evictions practiced in Spain in the second quarter of the year was 17,152, which represents an increase of 1.7% year-on-year, according to data published today by the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ).

According to the report on the effects of the crisis in the judicial bodies, this increase is linked to the increase of 6.1% experienced by the launches resulting from the Urban Leases Act (LAU), a fact that contrasts with the fall of 8 , 5% suffered by the evictions by embargo.

The data also reveals that the number of launches requested between April and June was 20,526, 7.2% more than in the same period of the previous year.
