Everything that has been lost in 'Operation Canalejas'

The building was acquired in 1920 by the Banco Español de Crédito, which would move its headquarters there two years later. Until then, in addition to the Equitativa offices, the building had had all kinds of uses: bars, shops, the Japanese embassy or the Madrid Casino. The so-called Great Conversation Room of this recreation society survived the reforms of the mid-twentieth century, but not the last of the Lamela study.
