The 81 runners of the Transgrancanaria 360º came out yesterday from Expomeloneras to try to complete the hardest test of all. An odyssey of 264 kilometers and 13,265 meters of positive slope that will take participants to the most inhospitable corners of the island. At the close of this edition, the Catalan Eugeni Roselló and the Portuguese Joao Oliveira led the race, completing 90 kilometers of the course.

Until the first night, the runners of head had crossed Cercados de Espino, the town of Mogán, Tasarte, La Aldea and climbed towards Carrizal de Tejeda. During the early morning they would tour El Toscón, Tejeda, Cruz de Tejeda and Artenara, since the participants who aspire to win do not sleep. During today they will pass through Tamadaba, San Pedro de Agaete, Saucillo, Santa Maria de Guia, Moya, Teror and arrive at Saint Matthew at night, completing about 180 kilometers of the total 264. It is estimated that the first runner will reach the finish line at 7 o'clock on Friday morning.

In the arch of the exit of the 360, located in Expomeloneras, in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, the athletes and all their companions gathered, also surrounded by the mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Marco Aurelio Pérez, and the councilor of sports, Roberto Martel. At 9.00 the 81 participants left, but until last morning, six runners had retired.

The Transgrancanaria 360º is a race in self-sufficiency in which the participants will have until Sunday at 2:00 p.m. to complete the tour. The organization has calculated that the first will arrive on Friday at 7 in the morning. Among the favorites are Luca Papi, winner in 2017 of this test and who will dare with the challenge of the 360 ​​and later exit of the Transgrancanaria 128 kilometers.

The Canarian runner, Iván Galván, will also dare with the double, if his forecasts are fulfilled. Until the close of this edition, I was third, several kilometers from Roselló and Oliveira. The Canarian runner of the sports club Pandicornios expects to reach the finish line on Friday at noon, and then take the exit of the Transgrancanaria HG 128 kilometers from the beach of La Puntilla in Las Canteras at 11.00 pm.

It is also worth mentioning the participation of Esteban García, Pablo Criado, Esther Hernández, Yaiza Cabrera and Pavel Paloncy, who has been three times winner of the demanding Spin Race, considered one of the hardest ultras on the planet, with 420 kilometers of course.
