Criminalistics of the Civil Guard sends the instructor the improved images of the cameras that captured a car similar to that of Óscar S. in a car wash in Argales on car day

The test carried out by the Department of Ballistics and Instrumental Traces of the Criminalistics Service of the Civil Guard to determine what tool would have produced the small injuries that Esther López had on her right hand has determined that this utensil could be “a three-pronged fork or another object with the same or similar characteristics. The report, which has just arrived at the Investigating Court 5, was requested by the Homicide, Kidnapping and Extortion Section of the UCO on August 11, after the investigation team of the case gave a second round to the report of the autopsy and noticed that the forensic experts had located nine micro-injuries on the right hand of the corpse that, according to the Accident Reconstruction Team, are not compatible with the hit-and-run or "the dynamics of the accident through the model of vehicle used by the investigated person" . They refer to the Volkswagen T-Roc car of the main suspect, Óscar SM, the friend who was the last to see Esther López alive at dawn on January 13, according to his own statement from which he has never left, in the access crossing to the El Romeral urbanization, where she would have gotten out of the vehicle after an argument because she wanted to continue partying and he refused.

In the motivation that the Civil Guard gave to the titular magistrate of the Court of Instruction 5 of Valladolid, Soledad Ortega, it was pointed out "the relevance that knowing the origin of the aforementioned injuries would mean in this investigation" and the need to have "a police report for the determination or approximation of the type of tool or object that could have caused the observed injuries”.

Several injuries that Esther López had on her right hand are being investigated

These injuries can be seen on the back of the right hand and in the report of the forensic doctors of the Institute of Legal Medicine of Valladolid, who carried out the autopsy of the corpse last February, described them as nine “rounded and superficial marks that mimic a drawing cube-shaped in groups of three”, with a size of about three millimeters. In addition, "another small lesion with the same characteristics can be seen on the ulnar edge of the base of the fifth finger."

In the visual inspection prior to the removal of the body, no signs compatible with violence were observed on the surfaces of the hands. It was later, during the autopsy, when the forensic doctors appreciated these small injuries on the right hand.

the same pattern

In them, according to the description now made by Ballistics technicians, three parallel groupings can be seen that present the same repetitive pattern, grouped and arranged in a straight line and three in number. These groupings, in turn, are made up of rounded, spaced and poorly penetrating lesions. The report describes the tool compatible with these brands, a standard dessert fork with three prongs and blunt tips "or another object with the same or similar characteristics".

The car of Óscar S., a friend of Esther López, arrived at the Civil Guard without the dent

In addition to this report, the judge has received 15 video files and nine other enhanced images of the camera recordings that allegedly captured the vehicle of the main suspect in the case, Óscar S., in a car wash on Avenida de Zamora, in the Argales industrial estate in the capital of Valladolid on January 13, 2022, the same day that Esther López disappeared. These cameras would be those of the Gadis supermarket and the Iberdrola complex. The Civil Guard, in its first report, presented some photographs in which an off-road vehicle similar to the Volkswagen T-Roc of the person under investigation can hardly be seen, although the investigators consider that it is Óscar S. who "hurried" to " wash the car thoroughly» hours after, according to her statement, she left her friend alone at the intersection of the El Romeral de Traspinedo urbanization. These images have been enhanced by the Civil Guard Engineering department. The main investigator of the case denied during the interrogation in court that he washed the car that day and that the images that appear in the report corresponded to his vehicle.
