ERC reopens the file on Alfred Bosch for "new information" on the alleged case of harassment of his subordinate

ERC has reopened the file of former minister Alfred Bosch for the case of sexual harassment allegedly committed by his chief of staff, Carles Garcias. As progress has been made this Tuesday magazine El Temps, the reopening has been decided after the party learned "new information" about Bosch's management in that case, which Esquerra says he wants to confirm or deny through an internal investigation.

Both Bosch and Garcías have had two open files, one in the Government and the other in the party. The one that was instructed within the ERC ended up closing on October 5, without any sanction being imposed against the former minister, understanding that he had already assumed the consequences when he left his position in the Government, a position from which only one resigned once the case jumped in the media. For his part, Garcias was not a member of the party, so ERC did not impose sanctions on him, beyond prohibiting his membership in the future.

The justification of the party for not imposing any sanction on Bosch was that he had acted correctly and with the aim of clarifying the case, despite not having activated the protocol against sexual violence of the Generalitat. On the other hand, the file instructed by the Department of Public Function of the Government has not closed the case, and could determine something different from that instructed by the party.

Given this, as detailed by El Temps, ERC has "new information" that could indicate that Bosch would know the case earlier than previously thought, so it could have acted to cover it up. ERC confers on this information the character of "rumor", but claims to want to contrast them "to act accordingly." The deadlines to change the conclusions of the file are two months from the reopening.
