In statements to the Chain Being picked up by Europa Press, Sabrià has rejected an electoral advance in case Torra is disabled as a Catalan president and has advocated for complying with the “very important agenda” that the Government has ahead, including approval of budgets.
“It is not the time for elections but the time to continue moving forward,” said the president of ERC in the Parliament, who has reiterated the commitment of the Republicans to continue working “with this Government committed to amnesty and the right to decide” .
In any case, he recalled that Torra is the only one who can make an electoral advance. “If the answer is to call elections, only Mr. Torra can do it and we don’t think it’s the most appropriate,” he reiterated.
ERC, he reiterated, has not considered “under any circumstances” to withdraw support for Torra. “If you continue with the will to govern, the recognition that you are president is not in doubt,” he added.
The spokesman for the ERC parliamentary group has reiterated that there are solutions to safeguard the president and the Parliament after the disqualification issued by the Central Electoral Board (JEC) and ratified by the Supreme Court.
In this regard, he has cited that Torra could even vote and pick up that vote is kidnapped by the JEC and the TS to preserve these rights.
