ERC has announced that it will facilitate with its vote, without clarifying whether it will be an abstention or support, the approval of the budget stability path for the next few years that this Thursday is discussed in the Congress of Deputies.
During his speech at the Plenary Session of Congress, the ERC spokesman, Joan Margall, has argued that with this vote he gives “confidence margin” to the Government “so that dialogue and negotiation can move forward” as well as to give “an opportunity to the negotiating table. “
“We do not like your spending ceiling or your deficit path” Margall told the minister, while claiming the 400 million euros that, in his opinion, the State owes to Catalonia for the change of the settlement system VAT in 2017.
However, it has valued that the Government “is fulfilling” with the commitments acquired, referring to the meeting held yesterday between the Executive and the Generalitat, which together with the elections constitutes the “main democratic tool with which to resolve the conflict” Catalan.
The ERC vote is decisive for the approval of the stability path, which will foreseeably go ahead although it is still pending the decision of other groups.
