The Canarian Institute of Equality will promote among the social agents of the municipalities the resource Face mask– 19 to stop gender violence, and which was so successful during confinement thanks to the collaboration of pharmacies. This was announced this Wednesday during the signing of an agreement between Equality and the professional associations of pharmacists of the two provinces a year after this aid was launched, from which 45 women abused by their partners in the Archipelago have benefited. The women went to pharmacies and just by saying Mask 19 the protocol against gender violence was activated, in which 112 and the National Police also participate.
The pilot project will be launched in Ingenio and Tías, and will consist of training farm administrators, neighborhood communities, associations and businesses on this resource so that they can quickly activate it at the request of a woman.
The Mask 19 initiative, launched the first weekend after the state of alarm due to the coronavirus crisis, has been copied in 12 autonomous communities and in 19 countries.
