In "Avengers: Endgame", his directors Anthony and Joe Russo will not give free rein to think about what will happen next, because this "cathartic and powerful" movie is the "final chapter" of phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the brothers to Efe.
The past of the characters will be key in "Endgame" as they show the flashbacks of the trailers and as they let glimpse in London the Russo, who affirm that in this film they do not focus "at all" in showing the future as it has been done in other previous deliveries; "We only look back, at everything we've covered," says Anthony.
Although the directors have not wanted to reveal anything about the plot, they believe that the 22nd tape of the Marvel studios "will not disappoint the audience" because their conclusion and the emotions that appear in it are "very powerful".
In its premiere last year, the end of "Avengers: Infinity War" did not leave fans indifferent: several Avengers became dust and Thanos was proclaimed winner after gathering in the gauntlet the six Gems of Infinity (Space, Time, Soul , Power, Mind and Reality).
In this film, which was the first that the Russo made about these superheroes, the brothers had to seriously rethink which remained and which evaporated.
"We had to think about where we wanted to direct the plot to be a functional story and, above all, we had to decide which characters were central to the events," says Joe Russo.
The beginning of the end that was developed in "Infinity War" will be developed in "Endgame", where the directors have dedicated special importance to the point of view and the emotions of the superheroes after Thanos (Josh Brolin) made disappear in the middle of the creatures of the galaxy.
At the moment, Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) are the three Avengers that star in the trailers of the film -whose content is still kept secret- and that will have to resurface from the ashes of the world to face the most powerful villain in the world.
"These are the original Avengers that have been part of the trip for the last ten years and in 'Endgame' we really wanted to explore their mood after what Thanos did to them," they detail in the production document.
In total, it has been "three long and crazy years" that has lasted the process of creation of the two projects of the Avengers of the Russo, whose development has been interspersed over time.
"We spent six months filming 'Infinity War', we had two weeks of rest, and then we had another six filming 'Endgame', then we stopped with 'Endgame' to finish 'Infinity War' and, when it was released, we put on new with 'Endgame' to finish it, "explains Joe.
Since announcing the end of filming, several theories have circulated on the network, as one that ensures that Mark Ruffalo - who plays Hulk - said that they had recorded five different outcomes for "Endgame" and that the Russo have denied during the interview .
"We do not have the energy to shoot five different finals," Anthony says as he laughs. "Probably, Mark would say it because he had to be too cautious with the information he gave."
With "Avengers: Endgame", the Russo brothers lead the fourth Marvel production, after "Captain America: Winter Soldier" (2014), "Captain America: Civil War" (2016) and "Avengers: Infinity War" (2018) .
After its premiere, Anthony Russo hopes it does not leave indifferent to an audience that still thinks that the best film they have done is "Captain America: winter soldier", according to him.
For the brothers, "Avengers: Endgame" is the "best project" they have done for Marvel, in part, because they have "worked hard" and because they have put "a lot of passion" in it.
The end of the game for the Avengers arrives next April 25 to the Spanish undercard with a tape that expects to raise between 200 and 250 million dollars (177.6 and 222 million euros) in the weekend of its premiere, only in United States.
