Endesa earns 10% more until September

Endesa gained 10% more in the first nine months of the year thanks to the good performance of the liberalized business. Ebitda grew by 9.5% compared to the same period of the previous year driven jointly by the company's strategy in the liberalized market, which has allowed it to increase the margin of this business by 13%, with a notable advance in the Ebitda of this segment of 23%.

In absolute terms, the gross margin of the liberalized business increased by 212 million euros, which became 295 million euros once the non-recurring effects of last year were eliminated (mainly the reimbursement of the Social Bonus for the 2015-2016 years accounted for in the third quarter of 2017, the adjustment to market prices and other adjustments in the gas sector and the liquidations of previous years in non-peninsular territories), according to the electricity company in a statement sent to the National Securities Market Commission ( CNMV).

This improvement in profit margins is mainly due to the good management of the electricity market, despite the high prices of the wholesale market, which have increased by 10%, to stand at 55.4 euros per megawatt / hour.
