The Council of Ministers approved this Friday aplan of measures to expand the coverage of the currentsocial-electric bonus, including single-parent families and collecting the prohibition to cut off the supply in households under the social bond where at least one child under 16 lives, and also forlower the electricity bill, before the bullish spiral of the last months in the price of electricity.
At a press conference after the Council of Ministers, the Minister for Ecological Transition, Teresa Ribera, stressed that theThe objective of this new standard is to offer coverage to vulnerable consumersduring the next winter months "while a National Strategy against Energy Poverty is being built".
The Government seeks to simplify the entire process for the request and verification of the required requirements, in addition to the fact that more households will be favored by the concession.So far, there were three groups that receive grants: vulnerable consumers (25% discount on the bill), severe vulnerable (40%) and at risk of social exclusion (100%).
Who can ask for the bonus now?
According to article 3 of the Royal Decree, the social bond is entitled to the supplies that, being natural persons in their habitual residence under the Voluntary Price of the Small Consumer (PVPC), meet any of the following requirements:
to)Vulnerable consumers:25% of their bill is subsidized if these households have a maximum joint annual income of between 11,279 and 18,779 euros, depending on the number of members. This calculation is made through the IPREM (Public Indicator of Multiple Effects Income.) Currently, the IPREM is established at 7,519.59 euros per year.
b)Severe vulnerable consumers:40% of their bill is subsidized if these households have a maximum joint annual income of between 5,640 and 9,340 euros, also following the calculation of the IPREM.
c)Consumers at risk of social exclusion:Your income is below the limits outlined above. They receive a 100% subsidy.
They can also receive, according to their income, thelarge families or all those pensioners of the Social Security for retirement or disabilitypermanent without other income.
