The Sayre Mayser Volleyball Club defeated Aceites Abril on Sunday by 0-3. With this result tied the first place in the classification of Group A of the First Division Women in the absence of two days. The Gran Canaria painting ensures its presence in the playoff of promotion to the Superliga 2. The whole of Tamaraceite has shown a manifest superiority throughout the season, since it has only given a set in 20 games.

Sayre ascended to the category two seasons ago. Last year finished the regular campaign in second position, also earning a place to fight to ascend. Unfortunately, the yellows fell in the semifinals and remained at the gates of Superliga 2 in the year of its premiere in the bronze category of Spanish women's volleyball, which would have been a historic milestone.

This campaign, the grancanario club bet firmly to ascend. "Seeing how the first season was for us, we have the rise between the eyebrows for this year," says sports director Ignacio Brito. For this the club decided to sign three foreign players. "We brought three Colombians who have raised our competitive level," he adds.

The Sayre incorporated in the summer Danna Escobar, opposite of 1.93 meters, Angie Venté, center of 1.86, and Vannesa Caicedo, receiver and attacker of 1.84. In addition, according to Brito, they expect another incorporation to the staff before the celebration of the playoff. "Shortly we have a fourth reinforcement, Neilyn Lorena, also a Colombian player who can play in any position," he said.

The club's sports director also highlighted the contribution of the Canarian fee: "Captain Lety Rodríguez, Paula García, Patri Velasco, Gara Alduán, Priscila Cabrera, Cristina Pérez and Ely Castilla have been at a great level, in addition to the contribution of cadets and juniors who train with Primera ".

According to Ignacio Brito, one of the girls in the lower categories played several head-to-head games and has a lot of potential. "This is the cadet Elena Hernández, who has a promising future on the national scene," he says.

The club has opted to reach the final of the playoff and get the promotion to the Superliga 2. He still has two days of the regular season. Then there will be a break that will serve to prepare thoroughly the desired phase of promotion. In it the two best classified of the three groups will take part. It will take place at the end of next month.
