El Guaguas, two victories away from fighting for a title again

The treaty that takes CV Guaguas to the Olympus of the men's Super League and to re-taste the honeys of the national competition title, has a new season in which to stop before reaching a new final for a title. Sergio Miguel Camarero's team starts tomorrow the semifinal series against CV Melilla Sport Capital (6:00 pm), which will start at the Javier Imbroda Pavilion.

The yellow team with a familiar face is reunited in the ranks of the Melilla team. The best receiver of the regular phase, Javier Monfort, will try to make things difficult for Guaguas on its way to success, with the aim of adding a new trophy to the season after having won the Copa del Rey just two months ago in the CID.

Monfort himself, after leaving the ranks of the Gran Canaria team, has become the linchpin of Melilla. As much as to have been nominated the MVP of the last day played when the team that plays in the African continent got rid of Palma in their quarterfinal crossing of the competition.

In the precedents that exist between the two teams in the dispute of the regular league, Guaguas know what it is to win the two times that they faced each other with the azulón team.

The first of them was in December 2020, with the visit of Salim Abdelkader's team to La Roca, from where they left scalded with a resounding 3-0, cemented with 23 points from Cocodrilo Pablo Kukartsev.

After the corrective inflicted on the Avenida Marítima track, the Guaguas traveled to Melilla just two weeks ago to close the regular league as leaders and Sergio Miguel Camarero's men did not fail in their exam and repeated the film of the first round solving the encounter on the fast track (0-3).

Regarding the assessment that Sergio Miguel Camarero made about his rival tomorrow, he expressed that: “We are in a Super League semi-final and therefore the four teams that remain are all difficult and complicated and more playing in this case that first match in the Melilla court ”.
