El Faro, a band that shines again this weekend at the Guiniguada Theater

Music and lyrics about youth, sadness, redemption and epic. The most organic and emotional pop. The conjunction of these two elements defines the band El Faro, which once again shines on stage and will go up to the Guiniguada stage this Saturday the 12th, at 8:00 p.m. It is the return of a group that, in this new stage, stars in the premiere of the #EnelFoco line of this theater managed by the Autonomous Government in the capital of Gran Canaria. Tickets are available on the space website for only 8 euros.

Their latest hit is The Bad Years, which they describe as "a highly emotionally charged statement of intent." In addition, it has the voice of Silvia Criado and a new, more electric sound with more vocal risks.

To know the origins of this musical project, you have to go back to 2013. Later, with only two songs and a year of experience, the group began to make a name for itself on stage. Such was their projection that they obtained mentions and awards in the independent music media, signed with the Watercolor Producciones label, reached relevant spaces such as Primavera Sound and opened concerts for artists such as Daniel Johnston or The Wave Pictures.

However, after that rise they spent a few years of inactivity. It was not until 2018 that, with a new formation, composed of Carlos Díaz, on vocals and guitar, Carlos Valenciano on drums, Eduardo on guitar, David on bass and Alberto on piano and synthesizers, they returned to their old ways. A year later they released Ay, si un día, a small EP with six songs produced by Jaime Beltrán (Pájaro Jack, Mr. Chinarro, Los Planetas…). The themes, which were composed in the years of inactivity, are a good example of the group's new orientation, with a commitment to lyrics about youth and emotionality as the main banners.

And so, in this current stage, they are the first bet of #EnelFoco, a line of programming to promote the work of young artists.
