El Corte Inglés reaches an agreement with the unions for the departure of 3,292 employees

El Corte Inglés and the union representation have signed an agreement for the voluntary adjustment of staff, which will affect 3,292 employees, after accepting the offer of compensation, both voluntary and forced, of 33 days with a limit of 24 monthly payments, according to reported to Europa Press the unions CCOO, UGT, Fetico and Fasga.
Specifically, these compensation will be based on the salary on the expiration date and the 2019 incentives for the sales group. In this way, the final number of affected people exceeds the 3,000 initially foreseen by the group by 292.
On the other hand, exit premiums have been agreed for those workers who voluntarily accept the termination of their contracts. Thus, those who have been in the company for more than 15 years will receive a payment of 20% of the annual gross salary, while for those between 10 and 15 years it will be 10%, and for those between 5 and 10, 5 % of annual gross salary.
The Spanish distribution giant has also promised to reduce the number of those affected by 15% in the event that it is not covered with the total number of volunteers, reducing forced extinction processes by more than 500 people.
The workers of El Corte Inglés will be able to ascribe voluntarily and in writing to these exits until April 23, and the company will have to answer them to accept or reject said request before May 23.
Regarding the relocation plan, finally the human resources companies LHH and Manpower, with more than 85% success in the job search and specialized in technical and commercial profiles, will be in charge of carrying out this process.

Fetico, Fasca, UGT and CCOO have warned that after signing they will promptly monitor the application of the ECI Future Reorganization Plan, guaranteeing parameters of equality, transparency and with the best achievement of relocation processes.
In addition, they hope that this reorganization will have a "preferably voluntary assignment" and that it will be "open to the entire company", since they consider that it has "very attractive conditions" and that, without a doubt, it will strengthen employment at El Corte Inglés .
