In recent weeks and in the framework of the negotiation of the draft proposal on the Housing Law that is being debated between the partners of the Government coalition, PSOE and UP, the appeal that the Executive has filed before the Constitutional Court against the Catalan Law regulating rental prices, which has been in force in the autonomous community since November last year. The Minister of Territorial Policy and Public Function, Miquel Iceta, affirmed in parliament on June 9: "If an autonomous law violates the competence framework, I have the political, moral and legal obligation to present that appeal." The record shows that the central government has seldom succeeded.
