The Minister of Education, Josep Bargalló, denounced this Thursday at a press conference the police presence in several schools last Friday, day 22, to remove the yellow ties of the Catalan schools.
Bargalló has accused the Office of the Prosecutor and the Central Electoral Board (JEC) of "putting the schools in the spotlight of a political debate" by ordering the Mossos d'Esquadra to intervene in the Catalan centers in order to withdraw the independence symbology, a procedure that you have defined as "worrying" and "bad".
"Schools should be a space for coexistence and well-being for students," said Bargalló, who added that these are spaces where freedom of expression should be "promoted" and, therefore, "should be the last place where education is encouraged". partisanship".
Regarding this reflection, the minister reiterated that the order to remove the yellow ties is closely linked to "acquire a specific partisan position."
In addition, Bargalló has labeled as "curious but not so curious" the fact that the interventions ordered by the Office of the Prosecutor regarding the second requirement of the JEC "focused basically on schools and not on the many other Catalan public buildings."
Education has taken the opportunity to give "support" to schools that "feel unduly altered" by the actions ordered by the JEC.
