Eduardo Arroyo, key painter of the 20th century and radical artist dies | Culture



Eduardo Arroyo, one of the most relevant painters and radicals of Spanish art of the last century, has died today at the age of 81, according to sources confirmed by the family to EL PAÍS. The creator achieved fame in Spain especially from the eighties, after he was forced to leave the country for more than two decades for his anti-Francoism. His works are exhibited in some of the most important national and foreign museums, from Paris to Lisbon, passing through Berlin. Among other recognitions, he won the National Prize for Plastic Arts and received the Gold Medal for Merit of Fine Arts.
