Ecoener, the Galician multinational of renewable energies, has adhered as a partner to the United Nations Global Compact Spain. Ecoener is thus committed to aligning its operations and strategies with the Ten Universally Accepted Principles in the areas of human rights, labor standards, the environment, the fight against corruption, and to adopt measures to support the United Nations objectives in terms of sustainable development.

Currently, there are more than 19,000 entities in 165 countries that are members of the Pact, which means joining thousands of companies worldwide for a common goal. In addition, this adherence strengthens a fundamental principle not only of our business, but also of our management model. Sustainability has underpinned our decisions for more than 30 years.”

Ecoener will continue working to reaffirm its commitment to social, environmental and good governance actions that show the company's transparency in contributing to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). "With our sights set on creating long-term value, we take care at all times of the impacts we generate on people and the environment, contributing responsibly to the progress of society," says the president.

Ecoener is the result of a business project initiated more than 30 years ago by Luis de Valdivia, president and founder, with the aim of promoting and developing renewable energies in Spain and in other countries around the world.

Currently, the company manages an asset portfolio of 171 MW of installed power and has 7 hydraulic facilities, 13 photovoltaic plants and 9 wind farms. Ecoener's portfolio of operations includes assets in Spain and in ten other countries in Central America, South America, Central Europe and Africa. It has various facilities under development and construction with an installed capacity of 1,706 MW.

Ecoener reached revenues of 39.9 million in 2021, 20% more than the previous year. The adjusted Ebitda in 2021 reaches €22.5 million, compared to €17.9 million in 2020 and has a workforce of 107 people.

30% of Ecoener's capital has been listed on the Stock Exchange since May 4, 2021. The IPO entailed the support of important Spanish and international investment groups for the company's growth strategy and management.

United Nations World Pact

Launched in 2000, the United Nations Global Compact, in Spanish United Nations Global Compact, is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world. There are currently more than 19,000 affiliated entities in more than 165 countries and it has 70 local networks*.

In Spain, more than 2,100 organizations have joined the initiative, which makes it the Local Network with the largest number of adhered entities and, therefore, the most important in the world.
