The Prosecutor's Office has requested the admission to preventive detention for seven of the eight detainees for their alleged involvement in the multiple sexual assault of a young woman in Sabadell (Barcelona) last Sunday, have informed to Europa Press fiscal sources. The Office of the Prosecutor will maintain this position for the eight, based on the seriousness of the events and the prison sentences that could be reached, as well as to ensure the investigation of the case, and the risk of flight and the lack of roots of the arrested. .
Seven of the eight arrested for the sexual assault have returned this Thursday morning to pass to disposal of the Court of Instruction 2 of Sabadell. It is the second day of statements, after the magistrate ordered to extend the detention of the seven alleged perpetrators of the sexual assault – they have been since last Sunday -, according to sources of the investigation. The eighth person related to the case, who was arrested by the Mossos d'Esquadra on Wednesday afternoon after turning himself in at the local police station in Sabadell, is scheduled to go to court this Friday.
Five of the seven detainees who testified before the judge accepted their right not to testify and the other two only answered the questions of the defenses. One of the seven had an expulsion order from Spain, another four have an open immigration file and another individual has a history of robbery.
