The Board of Directors of Aena today appointed the former president of Unió Democrática de Catalunya (UDC) Josep Antoni Duran i Lleida independent director to replace the former PP minister Josep Piqué, who resigned from his post, the company reported today in a relevant event. Efe informs.
In addition, Duran i Lleida replaces Piqué as a member of the Appointments and Remuneration Committee.
Josep Piqué, who presided over Ercros, Fertiberia, Erkimia and Vueling and was CEO of OHL, communicated his resignation as a member of the Board of Directors of the airport manager just over a year after joining it in October 2017.
Duran i Lleida has an extensive political career that began in 1982 as a national deputy of the CiU and ended in January 2016, after UDC, which attended separately from the CDC in the Catalan and general elections of 2015, failed to win seats in neither of the two electoral calls.
