The 50th Princess Sofia Trophy today puts the end to a historical edition with the celebration of the medal race of each category, final race reserved for the top ten classified and double scoring. In two of them there will be Gran Canaria representation, although in none of the cases there is a podium option.
In 470 women, the Catalan Silvia Mas and the island Patricia Cantero assured yesterday the pass to the last sleeve of the competition. After the two races, the Catalan-Canary crew remained in the seventh position, which distances them from the possibility of fighting for the medals.
He also got a position in the medal race Tara Pacheco, who with his partner Florian Trittel managed to enter the race reserved for the best of the class Nacra 17. And they did it by the hair, they were classified in the tenth position of the provisional general, tied with the eleventh. They dispute today the final with the hope of being able to scratch some positions in a fleet in which they have competed up to a total of 59 catamarans.
They did not get the prize to sail on the last day of the Princesa Sofía Trophy, held in the waters of Palma de Mallorca, nor Joel Rodríguez and Joaquín Blanco, fifteenth and sixteenth respectively in the Laser class. Neither did Angel Granda achieve a goal in RS: X, eleventh.
