DeWolff, Capsula and Silo put salsa in the first Mojo Music Festival - La Provincia

There is a new festival in sight. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria welcomes the Mojo Music Festival, which adds to the musical offer of the city with an eclectic artists poster, which differs by programming international, national and local artists from the more alternative orbit, emerging bands with enormous potential, in a clear tribute to the venue that for ten years opted for this type of programming, the Mojo Club.

Among the bands chosen for this first experience we find the Dutch DeWolff, the Spanish-Argentine duo Capsule and the Valladolid Siloé, in addition to the locals Podenco set, which will be uploaded on May 18 to the stage that will be located in the park adjacent to the Plaza de la Música. The tickets, which will be placed soon for sale, will cost 15 euros. On Sunday 18, with free admission, local bands will perform as Nayaband, Lajalada, D. Juan León and the project for the whole family, of a pedagogical nature, entitled Kids Rock History, and that represent local musicians. Added to the poster is the collective of DJs Fuckin '4 Factory and OswaldoH.

What is promised is debt. The Dutch DeWolff will keep their word and will play for the first time in the Canary Islands as headliners of the Mojo Music Festival. After canceling their concert scheduled for October 19 for health issues, the trio composed of brothers Pablo (voice and guitar) and Luka van Poel (battery) and Robin Floor (keyboards), will present its powerful direct loaded with seventies influences: blues, rock, psychedelia, hard rock, country, americana, southern rock€ shake well that shaker of rhythms and you will discover a band that with its last work, THRUST, has achieved the respect of all rock Europe.

Guided by the couple Martin L Guevara and Coni Duchess on guitar and bass, Capsula have been compared with groups like The Cramps, X, Sonic Youth and The Who in a great tide of psychedelia. Its sound mixes the intensity of the garage rock and roots of rock and roll with post punk, noise and dark psychedelia, delivered with a powerful and visceral energy. Their live concerts are recommended as an experience that deserves to be lived.

So much so that in the prestigious South by Southwest they were better band according to Rolling Stone and the newspapers The Austin Chronicle Y Chicago Tribune. They have worked with the producers John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr, Kurt Vile) on the discs In The Land Of Silver Souls (2011) and Dreaming of Ziggy Stardust (2012) and with Tony Visconti (David Bowie, T-Rex) in Solar Secrets (2013). Their disks Rising Mountains Y In The Land of Silver Souls have been number 1 of the year in Spain (Mondo Sonoro, Route 66, Bi FM), Solar Secrets is among the 10 best national albums for Mondosonoro Y Rising Mountains he was chosen disc of the year for KEXP radio in Seattle.

In 2015 they published Dead or Alive recording a live concert with its most emblematic songs. At the end of that year the group Pearl Jam He invited Capsula to be his opening group in his native country, Argentina, opening a Show for around 60,000 in the Unique Stadium of La Plata. In 2016 they published Santa Rosau, a high energy disc with hypnotic and futuristic touches. In 2019 they greet all the creatures of the future with their new album, Bestiarium, published last Friday, March 22.

The Truth, the debut of Siloé published in 2016, has established itself as one of the most surprising and commented albums of the time, based on great songs and exciting concerts throughout Spain. Siloé has stood out among the new releases of pop bands in Spanish language thanks to the talent of the vocalist's performance Fito Robles, one of the few musicians with prestigious scholarships American Berklee School of Music.

He also writes emotional texts with great care and great spiritual background. Your first single, The truth, was one of the most viral songs on Spotify in Spain (reaching number 4) and in other Spanish speaking countries as Chile and Mexico. After the second album The light, Fito Robles joins the electronic music producer Xavi Road, creating a new concept with live remixes of their songs on stage. This served to create a new sound horizon in the project and allowed them to play in many great Spanish stages.
