The Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, yesterday defended the need to continue betting on expanding and reinforcing the capacities of the National Health System (SNS), with programs such as the High Technology Investment Plan (Inveat) or the implementation of the proton therapy in Spanish public health, to implement the response against childhood cancer. This was stated during his speech at the institutional act on the occasion of the International Day of Childhood Cancer that, organized by the Spanish Federation of Parents of Children with Cancer, was held this Monday at the Royal Theater in Madrid, under the slogan A better survival it's possible.

In the words of the minister, "the response to childhood cancer requires us to be at the forefront" in order to face challenges such as, for example, the diagnosis of second neoplasms or the control of the adverse effects of long-term treatments. In this sense, Darias recalled that the Government has launched the Inveat Plan, a program endowed with more than 795 million euros from European Next Generation funds.
