The president of Citizens in the Parliament, Carlos Carrizosa, has registered on the table a letter requesting "neutrality" to the president of the chamber, Roger Torrent, as well as deleting calls to order to spokeswoman Lorena Roldán for calling "criminal" Quim Torra.
In the text, to which Efe has had access, Carrizosa states that Torrent "once again showed an absolute lack of neutrality and a manifest bias in the exercise of the institutional functions entrusted to him according to the regulations of the Parliament of Catalonia".
Specifically, remember that Roldán was called to order by the president of the Parliament twice for referring to Torra with the expression "criminal" after recalling his conviction for disobedience of the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC).
For the leader of the orange formation in the Parliament, the calls to order were intended to "censor" Roldán, which means "serious interference and violation of their fundamental rights."
Therefore, he requested that the two calls to order "be immediately withdrawn", because in his opinion they represent a serious violation of the fundamental right of freedom of expression and opinion and the right to political representation under equal conditions of Deputy Roldán, protected by articles 20 and 23 of the Constitution ".
Consequently, he claims "that these calls to order should not be recorded in the minutes of the plenary session and that he apologize to the deputy for them."
