Costa Rica will preside over an OAS session on Nicaragua and expose abuses to human rights

Costa Rica announced today that it will preside over an extraordinary session of the Organization of American States (OAS) convened this Thursday to deal with the crisis in Nicaragua, in which the Costa Rican delegation will expose the "abuses of human rights" in that country.

The Chancellery of Costa Rica explained that the session will be chaired by its ambassador to the OAS, Montserrat Solano, in her capacity as vice president in the exercise of the Permanent Council of the organization.

"Costa Rica will raise its voice to denounce the repeated escalation of abuses against human rights and freedoms in Nicaragua," the acting foreign minister, Lorena Aguilar, said in a statement.
