Correos will invest 3.2 million in protection material for its employees

The state company Correos y Telégrafos will invest nearly 3.2 million euros in the purchase of more than 15 million gloves and 50,000 face shields to protect its workers from the coronavirus while providing their services.

This is stated in the call for tenders published this Wednesday in the Official State Gazette (BOE), which specifies that the contract will last 105 days and interested companies may submit their offers through the Public Sector contracting platform.

Specifically, the company wants to acquire 15,525,005 pairs of nitrile gloves and 50,000 face shields for protection as a consequence of the COVID-19 of the Correos Group workers, made up of the Correos y Telegrafos State Society, Nexea Gestión Documental, Correos Telecom and Express Mail Express Parcel.

Correos, in the middle of the de-escalation phase, currently works at 50% in the delivery and with the customer service offices open only in the morning, from 08:30 to 14:30.
