Posthas launched its announcedjob offercorresponding to this year, for which it will incorporate 4,055 new permanent work workers in its largest selection process since 2004, according to the public postal company and CC.OO.
The new jobs offered are distributed throughout the provinces of the country.The bulk, about 2,818 positions, will be used as delivery postman functions,another 725 for postal classification agent and the remaining 662, to customer service personnel.
Correos thus starts the process of selecting the job offer announced last February, with the opening this Monday, September 30, of thedeadline to submit applicationsto participate in the selection process, which runs until October 10.
Correos addresses the new job offer after last March 1 began working in the company2,295 new permanent workers,plus half of them postmen, selected in the job offer and consolidation of temporary positions resolved last year.
Correos incorporates all these new workers based on the staff replacement rate granted annually by the Budgets and by virtue of the agreement that the company reached with its unions last December for which it undertook to generate a total of about11,200 permanent jobs until 2020.
Thus, the 2,295 workers who are about to become part of the Post Office staff are those corresponding to the replacement rate that was granted to the company in 2016, although the selection process was delayed and last year.
Similarly, the 4,055 employees that the postal operator will select this year are those derived fromreplacement rates for 2017 and 2018.
Two offers in one process
However, Correos has decided to jointly undertake the job offers corresponding to the previous two years, unifying them in a single process "for reasons ofefficiency, general interest and rationality of processes ", as the company explained at the time.
Thus, of the total of 4,055 new employees that the company will select this year, 1,869 correspond to the replacement rate of 2017 and another 1,612 workers, to that of 2018.
The remaining 574 positions are the result of thatlabor agreement reached with the unions,specifically, of the stabilization plan of 4,574 jobs that the company has committed to undertake in the 2018-2020 period.
Madrid and Barcelona concentrate the largest number of places in the new offer, with 831 and 626 seats, respectively, ahead of Valencia (225 seats, Seville (190) and Alicante (156).
Correos undertakes these replacements and reinforcements in its workforce,one of the largest in the country, while addressing a new strategic plan focused on internationalization, strengthening its position as a logistics agent for online purchases and expanding the diversification of its offices to new functions.
In a statement, CC.OO. urged the postal society to"continue in this line of commitment fulfillment"to, with the agreed and pending calls for the next two years, recover the 15,000 jobs that, according to the union, were lost during the crisis.
