The Minister of Social Security, Inclusion and Migration, José Luis Escrivá, has announced that Work permits are being granted “expressly” to all foreigners who are regularly in Spain and who can work as health personnel. During a press conference in Moncloa, the minister announced that these permits are being streamlined due to the crisis of the new coronavirus COVID-19 that has caused the declaration of the State of Alarm in Spain.
The person in charge of Migrations also recalled that “all the procedures regarding Aliens have been adapted to the circumstances” and also the steps related to the humanitarian care reception system and to beneficiaries of international protection.
Regarding the Huelva seasonal agricultural campaign that is covered with workers from Morocco, taking into account that in 2020 the total number of 20,195 workers was authorized, Escrivá has said that they are working with companies “to resolve the situation that has been produced ”in the face of the COVID-19 crisis.
