Coronavirus in the Canary Islands: Video calls for families to contact their elders in the social health centers – La Provincia

He Gran Canaria Council has enabled a video call system by WhatsApp for families to contact the elderly of its social health centers in Sabinal, Taliarte and Hoya del Parrado and also with the residents of the CAMP Reina Sofía during the health alert by the coronavirus.

It is a family communication service for users to maintain contact with their loved ones due to the suspension of visits to all the residential centers of the Insular Institution, explained the councilor for Social and Social Policy of Cabildo, Isabel Mena.

Family members who want to use this service only have to call their switchboards, where they will be informed and put in contact with their family member, something they will also do at the request of the largest resident.

Sabinal’s contact is 928 354 359, Hoya del Parrado’s is 928 350 058, Taliarte’s residence is 928 131 670 and CAMP Reina Sofía is 928 331 644.

The Cabildo undertakes this action, to which others will be added, to supply the concern generated by families not being able to visit their elders, although they understand that it is for their own good because they are in the highest risk group, but it does not remove that need to close contact for peace of mind both the resident and their children and grandchildren.
