The Vice-Rector for Students and Sports of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), Antonio S. Ramos Gordillo, has announced that he will begin to distribute at the end of this week, or at the latest at the beginning of the next, 50 new computers to bridge the digital divide manifested by the students in the survey that has been sent to them to know their difficulties in order to attend non-contact teaching.

It is a first measure it will continue in the coming days to respond to the 300 students who have expressed their difficulties, either because they do not have a computer, because they do not have the Internet, or both.

This was stated by the Vice Chancellor at the meeting held with the Student Council to address the end of the academic year.

He also commented that they remain conversations with Telefónica to see the possibility of offering internet to students who do not have it, although in this area we face a complicated moment of technological request by many companies and institutions.
