Coronavirus in the Canary Islands: The psychological care service of the COP has attended more than a hundred cases since its launch – La Provincia

The Official College of Psychology of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has launched a free psychological care service for people who may need support in the exceptional circumstances that have marked the Covid-19 epidemic and in particular for possible emotional difficulties due to house confinement.

Since this free service was launched, they have been 110 cases, most related to issues of anxiety, fear, elderly people who are alone, relatives who are in charge of other people with some type of disability and situations related to gender violence.

The provision of the service will be made through a WhatsApp message to 660 685 757 or a phone call if the message is not possible, or via email copsctenerife@cop.es. This first contact will be managed by the Psychological Intervention Group in Emergencies and Disasters of the School, who will refer the cases to the voluntary Psychology professionals, who are the ones who will attend, through a phone call, to the person who has requested the service.

You can use this service from Monday to Sunday, from 09.00 to 23.00, and currently has the collaboration of 150 professionals in Psychology.
