Coronavirus in the Canary Islands: The Metropole reopens its pools and gym on Monday with phase 2 – La Provincia

After meeting on Friday, that the island of Gran Canaria enters phase 2, the Board of Directors of the CN Metropole has issued a statement that includes the most important details to proceed to physical activity in its facilities.

It will be next Monday, May 25, when you can enjoy the pools and the gym again.

The letter from the board of the CN Metropole:

“Proximo Monday, phase 2 of the government’s plan of transition towards a new normality comes into force in Gran Canaria, which relaxes certain restrictions of the state of alarm caused by the health emergency situation of COVID-19. In application of the provisions of order 414/2020 of the Ministry of Health, from that day onwards, it will be possible to reopen all the sports facilities of the Metropole Swimming Club, including the gym and swimming pools, although at the moment only will allow individual activity.

In addition to compliance with numerous prevention and hygiene requirements, the order of the Ministry obliges us to adopt important changes in the organization and use of our facilities. Among other measures, the capacity must be limited, establishing hourly shifts and creating an appointment system, in order to avoid possible crowds.

So, starting next Monday, May 25, members will be able to enjoy the Metropole again from 06:00 to 22:00 hours from Monday to Friday and from 07:00 to 21:00 hours on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, always with prior reservation, which can be made by telephone (928 244 346) or through the website www.cnmetropole.com.

These special circumstances, which we hope are transitory, will require the patience, understanding and collaboration of all partners. Acting responsibly, respecting the rules and paying attention to the instructions of the staff, we can safely enjoy our Club again.

In the coming weeks, as we are allowed, we will try to incorporate all the services, events, sessions, classes and trainings, so that the Metropole can recover all of its social and sports activities as soon as possible. We hope to achieve this as soon as possible. “
