Coronavirus in the Canary Islands: The Civil Guard monitors the access to Mount Teide with a drone – La Provincia

The snow that this Monday fell covering a white cloak Mount Teide, in Tenerife, in full compliance with the state of alarm decreed to fight against coronavirus, has forced extreme vigilance on the site. At any other time the snow in the Tenerife National Park would have brought as a consequence an ‘avalanche’ of visitors to enjoy the beautiful landscape and the cold.

However, in the midst of a health alert and to prevent the snowfall from constituting the usual demand for visitors, the Civil Guard has ordered additional measures to avoid breach of quarantine. For this he has used a drone managed by agents of the Mountain Response and Intervention Group (Greim), displaced to the national park with the objective of controlling compliance with the restrictions established in the royal decree of a state of alarm.
