Coronavirus in the Canary Islands: Police seal beaches and warn tourists - La Provincia

The quarantine situation is catching tourists in the Islands by surprise. In the South of Gran Canaria, the Police have had to seal the beaches and remind passers-by that they cannot leave their hotels due to the limitation of movements decreed by the Government.

Also, the Civil Guard performs roadside checks to control movement. Many of the tourists in the South bypass the ban and look for bars and access to the beaches. To their surprise, they meet with law enforcement officers who impede their passage and remind them that they cannot leave their hotels.

Furthermore, the authorities will ensure that establishments that are not of primary necessity remain closed during the quarantine period.
