The Address of the Salesianos College – San Isidro de La Orotava has issued this Sunday March 8 a statement to families with students in the school to inform them of the confirmation that a teacher has tested positive for covid-19 (coronavirus).
The center points out in its report that from the first moment they were aware of the circumstance they contacted the health authorities and the Ministry of Education to inform them and follow their guidelines and recommendations. “The teacher once detected the symptoms has not attended the center, a fact that has happened since last Tuesday“, they have pointed out.

Upon confirmation that a teacher has tested positive for covid-19 (coronavirus), the Salesian College Directorate – San Isidro de La Orotava wishes to inform the families of our students:
„From the first moment we had knowledge of this circumstance, we have contacted the health authorities and the Ministry of Education, to inform them and follow their guidelines and recommendations.
„Once the symptoms have been detected, the teacher has not attended the center, a fact that has occurred since last Tuesday. Although it is yesterday when they confirm the diagnosis.
„Our interest, at all times, is to guarantee the well-being of our students and workers of the center, as well as to keep the entire educational community informed to act all following the recommendations of the professionals. In this regard, we call on everyone to act responsibly and calmly in this situation.
„In view of the indications of the health authorities, the Center has undertaken the following measures:
„The disinfection of surfaces and utensils in the center has been reinforced.
„Teachers, workers and students have received training on the WHO protocol for proper hand washing.
„Every day, teachers, workers and students will have to wash their hands first thing in the morning and before meals.
„More soap has been distributed in the center’s bathrooms and disinfectants throughout the facility.
„People in contact with the one affected by coronavirus have received information from the health protocol that they should follow from now on.
„We ask the families of students with previous respiratory, cardiovascular or immunological pathologies to inform the center in order to take the appropriate preventive measures.
The Directorate of the Center continues in contact with the health and educational authorities, to be making the decisions that they indicate. We also predict a speedy recovery for our Educator, feeling supportive of the moment that is happening.
Likewise, we commit ourselves to keep the entire Educational Community informed of the evolution of this situation in our Center.
