Real Madrid-Valencia is a reissue of the 2017 final. Unicaja-MoraBanc Andorra measures the host with a rookie at this point in the tournament
The semifinals of the Copa del Rey are celebrated today with the Real Madrid-Valencia (18:30, #Vamos) and Unicaja-MoraBanc Andorra (21:00, #Vamos) crosses. Whites eliminated Bilbao Basket (93-83) and Valencia ended Barça (82-78). Madrid is looking for its sixth consecutive final. The last two lost them to Barça and in the previous four the Laso team ended up proclaiming themselves champion. In the 2017 edition played in Vitoria, the whites won the title precisely against Valencia by 97-95.
The second semifinal, Unicaja-MoraBanc Andorra, measures the hosts with a rookie team at this point in the competition. It is the first time, in their third participation, that Andorrans are alive at this stage of competition. Three years ago they fell in quarters against Real Madrid in extra time after the famous field behind Llull. Unicaja seeks to end the curse of the host. Since 2002, when Baskonia won in Vitoria, no local team manages to lift the title.
